Technical Urban & Rural Surveillance (TURS) training prepares Reconnaissance & Surveillance (R&S) and Special Reconnaissance (SR) teams, along with their Headquarters (HQ) elements, for high-risk operations in semi-permissive and non-permissive environments.
Over five training days, participants develop and refine critical technical and tactical skills to approach, access, clear, establish, and operate from urban and rural hide sites or similar standoff, overwatch positions. The course emphasizes clandestine techniques tailored to R&S and SR profiles, focusing on the real-time gathering, reporting, and dissemination of intelligence to designated communication points, such as Reconnaissance Operation Centers (ROCs) or Tactical Operations Centers (TOCs).
Tactical and operational security are reinforced throughout the training, ensuring participants are prepared for the dynamic and sensitive demands of modern surveillance missions.
