SOF High-Risk Driver Course (SOF HRD) is an advanced training program designed to prepare operators for high-threat environments. This intensive course combines on- and off-road driving, advanced vehicle recovery, and day and night defensive and offensive driving skills tailored for SOF missions.
Participants train on left- and right-hand drive vehicles, both manual and automatic, simulating scenarios in regions such as North Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America, and Asia-Pacific. Training incorporates advanced vehicle handling techniques for paved, unpaved, and off-road terrain, including evasive maneuvers, vehicle ramming, and precision driving under duress.
The program emphasizes threat detection, counterterrorism driving skills, and survivability tactics for operating in austere and contested environments. Through progressively challenging scenarios, operators develop the expertise required to meet the mobility demands of SOF missions in global high-risk theaters.
