Designed for tactical convoy operations, off-road tactical, and technical driving.

T1G’s off-road capabilities support scenarios for MATV/MRAP-style platforms.

T1G’s off-road program skillfully combines a fleet of tactical vehicles and SUVs with integrated off-road trails that challenge students to negotiate multiple engineered obstacles and rugged terrains.

Engineered Off-Road Obstacles

Two off-road obstacle areas, located south of the paved track and west of the Live-Fire Wadi, offer a comprehensive range of challenges designed to test both vehicles and drivers. Multiple-angle platforms and features allow vehicles to practice suspension articulation, where drivers learn to manage situations with front or rear wheels elevated while their counterparts remain grounded.

  • Rock climb wall that stretches approximately 40-50 feet in length and 6-8 feet tall.
  • A steep decline and incline section is highly challenging. Due to the extreme grade, it’s primarily designed for Humvees. With specific directional requirements: Jeeps are restricted to north-south travel, while Humvees operate east-west.
  • Classic telephone pole obstacles require a road guide specifically designed to test suspension capabilities and demonstrate proper crossing techniques.
  • Two step-climbs: The first is a straightforward stepped climb, while the second incorporates a ramped approach at roughly a 45-degree angle, requiring drivers to employ different climbing techniques based on the step configurations.
  • Moguls are used to practice safe wheel articulation, and two distinct stepped climbing obstacles are used.

All the obstacles demonstrate the consequences of incorrect technique through visible evidence of vehicles bottoming out and serve as practical teaching tools for proper off-road driving techniques.
