Basic Law Enforcement Driving Course
Foundational EVOC driving skills for law enforcement officers.
Basic Law Enforcement Driving Course (BLEDC) provides new and experienced law enforcement professionals with foundational and advanced vehicle handling skills. Despite its name, this two-day course goes beyond basic training to cover advanced vehicle dynamics, skid control, reverse driving, defensive and offensive driving, and day and night operations. Participants engage in realistic scenarios that prepare them for emergency and non-emergency driving situations encountered in the field. The course culminates in high-stakes emergency and pursuit driving exercises, equipping officers with the confidence and expertise to safely control their vehicles in challenging real-world situations.
BLEDC training covers platform-specific vehicle operation, vehicle dynamics and control, instinctive driving, and pursuit driving techniques — with vehicle prep, rigging, survivability procedures, and field-expedient vehicle repairs built into each training day. Officers execute low-light driving scenarios and a mounted and dismounted tactical marksmanship refresher. All driving runs on T1G’s WPS-certified paved track. Officers who complete BLEDC progress to the Advanced Law Enforcement Driving Course for PIT techniques, ramming, and pursuit intervention — or pair it with EVOC for a broader emergency vehicle operations curriculum.
Arkansas CLEST Approved
This course is approved by the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST). Training hours for Arkansas law enforcement officers are submitted directly to CLEST. Out-of-state officers receive a course certificate for submission to their state training commission.
